Double Double - Percussion Quartet + Track

$44.00

Sheet Music, parts, and included tape track to perform Double Double by Konstantine Vlasis.

Double Double is loosely based on the "Song of the Witches" from Shakespeare's Macbeth. Although the whispered and vocalized parts are constructed from the opening stanza of the original poem, they abandon the traditional rhythmic mode in favor of a triple meter. Performers alternate between unison and interlocking rhythmic patterns in order to signal section changes in a trace-like fashion. And, while fairly simple in structure, Double Double features a number of a different musical textures and timbres, which are created by performances selection of found-materials. In this regard, all instruments and batons must be constructed from found-materials from the natural landscape.
